A classic horseshoe magnet leads this collection of special shape magnets, for jobs where a disc, block or ring is not the right fit.

The 80 x 60 x 15 mm Alnico horseshoe magnet brings both poles close together, which makes it a favourite for classrooms, science demonstrations and displays. Alnico (aluminium, nickel and cobalt) is an older magnet material, weaker than neodymium but well suited to teaching. The 15 x 8 x 5 mm conical neodymium magnet has a compact tapered shape for model making, positioning and small closures.
