Neodymium Block Magnet 50 x 50 x 20 mm N45

The Neodymium Block Magnet 50 x 50 x 20 mm N45 is a neodymium (NdFeB) magnet in grade N45 with a nickel coating (Ni-Cu-Ni). It is a rectangular magnet magnetised through its 20 mm thickness, so the two 50 x 50 mm faces are the north and south poles. Its size and holding force make it suitable for workshop and industrial tasks such as holding plates, jigs and fixtures, tool holders, magnetic mounts and prototype constructions.

N45 is a high grade of neodymium that gives strong holding force for its size (grades N48 to N52 are stronger still). The calculated pull force is approx. 74 kg when the magnet sits directly on a thick, flat steel plate. In practice the force is lower on thin or painted steel, on rough surfaces or with an air gap.

The nickel coating protects the magnet against corrosion in dry, indoor conditions. For damp or outdoor use, seal or shield the magnet.

Please handle with care: a magnet of this size attracts steel and other magnets from a distance and can cause serious pinching injuries. Separate magnets by sliding them apart, never let them snap together, and wear gloves when handling several at once. Keep away from children, pacemakers and sensitive electronics.
